The Government will provide $63.4 million over 15 years, including $37.0 million over the forward estimates, to redevelop IP Australia's core Trade Marks and Design business systems. IP Australia will replace the existing aged system with a commercial off‑the‑shelf case management product that will streamline processes, reduce maintenance and provide for more timely and cost effective examination and administration of intellectual property applications.

This measure will be partially funded from IP Australia's existing reserves, with a fiscal impact of $18.3 million, including $12.8 million over the forward estimates. The remainder of the funding will be redirected from IP Australia's existing activities and will be funded within existing resources.
